Bio

Rene Urbanovich is Santa Clarita’s premiere Voice and Creativity Instructor with over twenty years teaching and performance experience. Rene works with over two hundred students per year, developing both their vocal skill and creativity. The first to implement Creativity classes in the city’s ongoing curriculum, as well as College of the Canyons Extension program, Rene also conducts Creativity Seminars for the community, educational institutions such as Crafton Hills Community College, and churches. Rene was the winner of the City of Santa Clarita’s Health and Wellness Grant, 2004 and she serves on the board of directors for the newest regional theatre company, The Theatre Project, Santa Clarita Valley. Rene holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Creativity, has studied music at The Grove School in L.A., mentored under vocal industry greats such as Roger Love, Jubilant Sykes and Seth Riggs in addition to conducting extensive vocal research with Joanna Cazden of Cedar Sinai in L.A. Rene has worked as guest lecturer for College of the Canyon’s Summer Theatre Program and Studio Singing classes, Valencia and Saugus High Schools as well as various elementary schools. Creator and producer of her own instructional DVD, Singing With Ease, Rene has also written creativity curriculum for adult day care, preschool and Sunday school courses. Currently, Rene is writing a Handbook on Creativity for future publication, concurrently dabbling in prose and poetry for her own creative expression. Rene’s original jazz/swing CD, Rene Urbanovich LIVE, is available as a fundraiser for these community service events.
